Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy

At SailGlobal, we recognize the importance of work-life balance for our team members. Full-time employees are entitled to 15 calendar days of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually. When viewing their PTO balance on the SailGlobal platform, employees will see 11 days allocated, as the system displays this in working days. PTO accrues at a rate of 1.25 days per month after completing 12 months of service. Our PTO policy includes both Saturdays and Sundays in the calculation.

To reward long-term commitment, employees receive an additional day of PTO annually after five years of continuous service, with a maximum potential of 30 calendar days.

Part-time team members receive the same 15 calendar days of PTO as full-time employees, demonstrating our commitment to equitable benefits across our workforce.

Public Holidays in Ecuador

Our Ecuador-based employees enjoy both national and regional holidays throughout the year. The country celebrates 10 national public holidays, with additional regional observances depending on the employee's location.

National public holidays include:

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • Carnival (February/March)
  • Labor Day (May 1)
  • Battle of Pichincha (May 24)
  • Independence Day (August 10)
  • Guayaquil's Independence Day (October 9)
  • Day of the Dead (November 2)
  • Cuenca's Independence Day (November 3)
  • Christmas Day (December 25)

For example, our team in Guayaquil typically receives an additional holiday on October 9, while our Quito-based staff enjoys the Battle of Pichincha observance. This regional approach ensures our holiday policy respects local traditions while maintaining operational consistency.
